Forbidden

Two months in the making and it's finally done. I probably spent about one day on it but because I had so much stuff to do at Uni and work, I had to spread it over two months. Now I'm probably behind in my assignments.

But anyway, this is a remake of an artwork by the same name (I've thrown it into my scraps). I really liked that picture and thought I should make a clean version. I tried a different style for the hair......his turned out good, hers looks shit.

By the way, if you haven't seen the scrap, Rye's a half-demon, Preia's an elf and daughter of nobles. Hence "Forbidden" love.

Species: Neko-jin/Demon halfbreed

Looks: Rye was born with the common neko-jin traits: Slitted pupils, slgihtly pointed ears and retractable claws. He stands at 6' and his hair is jet black and falls over his blood, red eyes. He has tanned skin and has very small fangs that usually go unnoticed. His muscular build is hidden usually under pants and shirts.

Personality: Due to his lonely upbringing, Rye is very quiet and awkward around others. He is easily irrated and has an temper that awakens a fearsome power, no doubtedly inherited from his demon father. This side of him is rarely shown but knows no mercy. He hides a sad face behind a permanant frown. Being on edge and always fearing for his life, Rye is very perceptive and jumpy like a cat out of his territory.

Slight History: Rye's mother, Shirala, was violently raped by a demon, resulting in the birth of the neko-jin/demon outcast. Not having the courage to kill herself, she decided to carry the child and abandon it once it was born. Shirala wept and held Rye close to her chest when she noticed that he had the neko-jin traits, making her decision to abandon him more difficult. When Rye had grown hair, Shirala's heart broke as she noticed he did not have her colouring, but the dark hair and eye colour of his father. Once the villagers learned of the halfbreed, Shirala and her family were shunned and forced to live in exile on the outskirts of Gaia. Her husband, Jonah, left her to keep his carpentry business running but visited them every two months. When Rye was 15, Shirala passed away, leaving her first child, Lila, to fend for herself and Rye. Lila was 19 at the time and felt forced to marry her long-term boyfriend for support. Her then 28 year old husband, Raelin, was a warrior of the Gaian army and taught Rye the art of fighting. He was forced to retire two years later after he lost an eye.

Family: Stepfather - Jonah, a carpenter. Mother - Shirala, deceased. Half sister - Lila, a housewife. Brother in Law - Raelin, retired warrior.

Status: Exiled.
